About Ashley
Hey, I’m Ashley.
I am a lived experience leader, organisational founder and social impact strategist who believes leadership can be both human and effective.
My work has been shaped by personal experience, more than a decade of building organisations and a commitment to creating environments where people feel safe, valued and able to thrive.
Trauma informed, values led and shaped by more than a decade of leading people, teams and organisations.
My leadership journey has been hard fought and well won.
As Founder and CEO of Thriving Survivors, I grew a lived experience initiative into a nationally recognised organisation. I led its development across strategy, services, funding, partnerships and national policy influence.
My work included developing integrated recovery pathways, creating new services, strengthening survivor leadership and ensuring lived experience influenced policy, practice and organisational decision making.
Today, through The Kaleidoscope Effect™, I bring that experience together to help leaders and organisations strengthen leadership, culture, governance and sustainability through a trauma informed and lived experience informed lens.
I also serve as a Trustee and Audit & Risk Committee Member of The Robertson Trust, contributing experience in governance, organisational risk, funding and trauma informed practice.
My work has been recognised through leadership awards, including Trauma Informed Support CEO of the Year and Trauma Support Charity CEO of the Year.
But recognition has never been the goal.
The work has always been about creating environments where people feel safe, valued, empowered and able to be unapologetically themselves.

WHY THIS WORK EXISTS
We cannot keep trying to fix people without examining the conditions around them.
Over the past decade I have watched organisations struggle with sickness absence, staff retention, complaints, burnout and cultural challenges.
Too often the response focuses on the individual.
People are expected to become more resilient, communicate differently or cope more effectively, while the systems, cultures and leadership behaviours shaping their experiences remain unchanged.
Harm within organisations is rarely intentional. But when leadership practices, organisational systems and culture are left unexamined, harmful patterns can continue.
Culture is not simply a set of values written on a wall.
It is a living, breathing ecosystem shaped by everyday decisions, relationships, behaviours and experiences.
When culture is healthy, people feel it. When it is not, they feel that too.
The Kaleidoscope Effect™ exists to help leaders and organisations understand what is happening beneath the surface and create a different way forward.
MY VALUES
Authenticity. Transparency. Vulnerability.
These values shape how I lead, how I work with organisations and how I create space for meaningful change.
AUTHENTICITY
I believe leadership begins with knowing who we are and having the courage to lead in alignment with our values.
Authenticity is not about sharing everything. It is about ensuring that who we are, what we say and how we lead are connected.

TRANSPARENCY
Trust grows when people understand how and why decisions are made.
I value clear communication, honest conversations and accountability, particularly when situations are difficult or uncertain.

VULNERABILITY
Vulnerability is not weakness.
It is the courage to acknowledge uncertainty, ask for support, learn from mistakes and remain open to change. When expressed with appropriate boundaries, vulnerability creates stronger relationships and more human leadership.

Authenticity builds connection. Transparency creates trust. Vulnerability makes growth possible.
For leaders and organisations ready to create meaningful change.
I work with leaders and organisations who want to strengthen leadership, culture and impact with greater intention.
I regularly work with:
-
Boards and trustees
-
Senior leadership teams
-
Public sector organisations
-
Charities and social enterprises
-
Values-led businesses
-
Founders and emerging organisations
You do not need lived experience of trauma to engage with this work. What you do need is a commitment to reflection, responsibility, meaningful impact and the ethical use of power.

How I work
Leadership. Learning. Legacy.
My work sits within three connected pathways: developing leaders, strengthening organisations and building foundations for impact.
Developing Leaders. Strengthening Organisations. Creating Lasting Impact.
